MASTERCLASS CARLA SIMÓN
Saturday 23 Nov | 12:30 p.m. | Free admission
Escuela de Comercio (auditorium)
Film director and screenwriter Carla Simón, winner of a Goya and the Golden Bear at
Berlin, will explore the art of directing fiction, highlighting the complexity of balancing
script and spontaneity. She will reflect on how directorial decisions bring her vision to
life, while raising essential questions about the role of the script and intimacy on set.
She will also emphasise the importance of working on relationships with performers,
both professional and natural, to allow unexpected and magical moments to emerge in
front of the camera. The session will address the processes of casting, rehearsal and
preparation for spontaneity in filmmaking.

WORKSHOP
DOCUMENTANDO EL CINE: TALLER PARA INCORPORAR DATOS E IMÁGENES EN WIKIPEDIA
Friday 22 Nov | 19:00 | Free admission
C.C. Antiguo Instituto (Assembly hall)
This workshop, given by journalist Montserrat Boix, ex-delegate for Equality, Diversity
and Inclusion at RTVE, focuses on how to add information about cinema – including
films, directors, screenwriters, actors and actresses – to open data platforms such as
Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. These tools not only serve as data sources for
Wikipedia, but also facilitate the creation of free and accessible content.
During FICX a new edit-a-thon has been called to add content to Wikidata and
Wikipedia related to the films and protagonists of the festival. In the three previous
editions, almost a hundred actresses and films have been added to Wikidata and
several dozen articles have been created or translated in Wikipedia in Spanish.
